A constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Government of India, CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum (CSIR-IIP) is devoted to multidisciplinary areas of research and development in the Energy sector. Areas of activity include petroleum refining, petrochemicals, biofuels, natural gas, alternative and clean energy, catalysis, adsorption separations, CO2 recovery and utilization, nanomaterials, biotechnology, IC engines, lubricants and combustion. CSIR-IIP offers globally competitive technologies and services for hydrocarbon, chemicals and automotive industries. It has close collaborations with other research and academic institutes / universities, both within the country and aboard, and an impressive track record of placements.
The CSIR-IIP having dedicated and qualified scientists, equipped with comprehensive state-of-art instrumentation facilities and research laboratories offers PhD program in Chemical Science, Biological Science and Chemical Engineering under the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR). The institute provides a vibrant and motivating atmosphere, which fosters creativity and encourages innovative thinking and research. CSIR-IIP selects JRFs and INSPIRE fellows followed by an interview. Successful candidates are eligible to be enrolled as PhD candidates under AcSIR.

सीएसआईआर-आईआईपी में समर्पित और योग्य वैज्ञानिक हैं तथा यह व्यापक अत्याधुनिक उपकरण सुविधाओं और अनुसंधान प्रयोगशालाओं से सुसज्ज है। वैज्ञानिक और अभिनव अनुसंधान अकादमी (एसीएसआईआर) के अधीन रासायनिक विज्ञान, जीव विज्ञान और रासायनिक इंजीनियरिंग में पीएचडी कार्यक्रम उपलब्ध कराती हैं। संस्थान एक जीवंत और प्रेरक वातावरण प्रदान करता है, जो रचनात्मकता को बढ़ावा देता है और अभिनव सोच और अनुसंधान को प्रोत्साहित करता है। सीएसआईआर-आईआईपी साक्षात्कार के माध्यम से जेआरएफ और इंस्पायर फेलो का चयन करता है। सफल उम्मीदवार एसीएसआईआर के अधीन पीएचडी उम्मीदवार के रूप में भर्ती के पात्र होते हैं।
