Sustainability Impact Assessment area (SIA) was conceived with the idea to carry out studies that would provide a holistic view about the various biomass conversion methods. To call any process sustainable in nature, several criteria needs to be met. These criteria change from process to process but all fall under the various pillars of sustainability mainly environmental, social and economic.
As a part of Material Resource Efficiency Division, our mandate is to carry out assessments for various biomass conversion processes. In addition, we are also working on developing new processes for the biomass value addition.
We have so far provided consultancy services to the industry to understand the end-user requirements, supply demand scenario and market potential of various products/ by-products generated during biomass conversion processes in a tailor made fashion.
