Business Development Division is the most important component of the institute. It acts as a bridge between the clients and scientists of the institute. The Division aims to promote the expertise of the institute by providing an innovative solution to the problems faced by the industry. It is involved in transfer and commercialization of the technologies developed by the institute. The Division is the key towards liaisoning with industries, PSU’s, Government organizations and academic institutes and is responsible for the overall business development needs of the institute.
The Institute has developed and commercialized technologies which are globally competitive and best in the world. Initially, the institute developed indigenous technologies for import substitution but the institute’s mandate in the recent years has been focussed to develop globally competitive and sustainable technologies to meet the requirements of the ever-growing energy sector and to exploit renewable resources and waste materials to develop low-cost pathways for making fuels and chemicals even from non-fossil sources. Several important technologies are presently under advanced stage of development.
