To get maximum profit, Indian refineries process very high sulphur crude oils. The bottom of the barrel produced by these refineriesis a challenging task to further process. Slurry Hydrocracking is the most upcoming process which can handle this type of feed. Hydroprocessing area is now working with BPCL, HPCL and EIL for development of a technology to convert these heavy end feeds to the valuable products. Moreover, India also consumes a huge amount of very high sulphur petcoke which liberates very harmful gases on use. This area has also started work to remove sulphur from petcoke.
